Old English Pheasant Fowl are on the Rare Breed Trust Critical list, which means there are less than 100 registered adult hens known.
Originally known as the Yorkshire Pheasant, and Old Fashioned Pheasant, this is a very rare breed. Renamed around 1914. Despite being classed as a light breed, they actually make a good utility bird and are ideal as a backyard fowl.
They are very hardy and make excellent foragers.
